Hello there!

My name is Richard McAllister, but most people in the industry call me Rich. I’m currently residing in the beautiful country of Scotland, amidst rolling hills and historic castles. The cool, crisp air here is something I’ve always found pairs wonderfully with a smooth, balanced tobacco blend.

I’ve spent the last 30 years of my life steeped in the world of tobacco, from the cultivation of the leaf to the final, intricate processes of crafting and tasting fine cigars. In this time, I’ve had the privilege to work with some of the most renowned companies in the business, such as British American Tobacco, Philip Morris International, and the world-renowned cigar manufacturer, Habanos S.A.

My journey began in the lush tobacco fields of Virginia, USA, where I first gained an appreciation for the complexity and depth of this remarkable plant. From there, my passion for tobacco led me to the University of Kentucky, where I earned a degree in Agricultural Science, specializing in Tobacco Production.

I’ve been honoured with several awards during my career, including the ‘Tobacco Industry Leadership Award’ and the ‘Innovation in Tobacco Processing’ award. These accolades are testaments to my passion and dedication to improving and innovating within the industry.

In my spare time, when I’m not enjoying a finely aged cigar, I love to go hiking in the Scottish Highlands and fishing in the nearby lochs. I also enjoy the occasional round of golf, and I play the bagpipes, much to the delight (or dismay) of my neighbours!

I also have a soft spot for photography, especially capturing the beautiful landscapes of Scotland. It’s a hobby that’s grown on me over the years and complements my love of nature and the outdoors.
